- 1 kilo flour
- 1 glass olive oil
- 1 lemon /orange, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Some water
- Olive oil for frying
- 2 glasses almonds, roughly ground and browned
- 1 glass sesame seeds
- 1 glass sesame seeds
- Cinnamon and cloves, 1 teaspoon
- 1 glass honey
- Cinnamon
- 1 glass sugar
- 1 glass water
Приготовление
In a bowl beat the oil, the salt and the lemon juice. Slowly pour in the flour and some hot water and work into a soft dough. Roll out a thin pastry sheet and cut into 8cm wide and 20cm long strips. Layer 2 teaspoonfuls of the filling on top, fold over and press edges together making sure that it is completely closed. Starting at one end, twist the ribbon in a spiral, similar to a sariki (the traditional headdress of Cretan men). When the pastry sheet and the filling are used up, fry them. Pour the syrup on top and serve.
