Oil cake with orange syrup



  • 150 gr olive oil
  • 400 gr flour
  • 250 gr sugar
  • 100 γgr raisins
  • 100 gr grated walnuts
  • 300 gr orange juice
  • 1 tsp grated cinnamon & carnation
  • 1 tsp of orange zest
  • 1 small tsp cooking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • juices of 2 oranges
  • 150 gr sugar
  • 250gr water
  • 200 gr brandy
  • Peels of white chocolate


Sift the flour and mix with baking soda, baking powder, the clove and orange zest. Flour the raisins. Beat in the mixer oil with sugar for a long time, until sugar dissolves. Add the flour with the orange juice, while still beating at low speed. Put the walnuts and raisins to the mixture, stop hitting and stir by hand.

Grease a tall cake tin, pour in the mix and bake in moderate oven to 170th C for 45-50 minutes. To taste if the cake is baked, use a fork to pin the cake and if it comes out clean it’s done. Prepare the ingredients for the syrup in a small saucepan and boil for 5 minutes. Pour on top of the cooled cake the warm orange syrup. Garnish with white chocolate peels.
