As we continue toward the picturesque village we follow the road to Kastello and Fylaki, two traditional settlements. From Fylaki we follow the road next to the river Mousela for Argyroupoli and its wonderful springs. From here a unique route through the gorge of Gyparis will lead us to the historical village of Asi Gonia.
Wonderful landscapes and very old customs, like St. George’s festival, where all the shepherds bring their sheep so that the priest blesses them and then they milk them and distribute the milk to the crowd. Such customs make the time stop and remind of the old times. We continue toward Kallikratis, an almost deserted but very beautiful village.
From here we can take the road that lead to Patsianos, through the gorge of Kallikratis, and from there to Frangokastello, or we follow the road to Asfendou (one more deserted but beautiful village) and Imvros. Here we have again two choices: we can go downwards to Frangokastello and Hora Sfakion or return to Askyfou and Vrises at the national road to Chania.
